Whether it’s wandering coastal paths, sipping responsibly crafted spirits, or enjoying locally sourced food, Fife invites you to travel thoughtfully.
Come and meet the beautiful Highland Coos and and learn more about their role in the rewilding project at Kinkell. The cows are working hard at the moment, grazing the fields to maximise the benefits for biodiversity. They decide for themselves where to graze, creating a mosaic of different vegetation heights and micro-habitats. Lying and rolling helps increase structural diversity, which can be important for ground-nesting birds. Trampling creates areas of bare ground, producing nurseries for seedlings, and dung generates an ecosystem in its own right. This type of low intensity conservation grazing has been shown to be critical for encouraging nature to thrive.
The experience is suitable for all ages, so bring your family and friends!
